Please describe what drove your creativity:
We originally created this short film for a local film challenge in which we were asked to create, produce and submit a film within 48hours. Under that kind of constraint, we thrived, coming up with an idea 20 minutes into the challenge. The film itself changed as we were shooting it. Re-writes and for such a short film, quite a few shots were cut. When we were down at the location shooting, there were several homeless people. There was a lady with two Chihuahua's who were very much like their owner. A man tried to sell us his hi-def tv. Surrounded by all of that while shooting, helped us stay respectful of our subject. Sam, my good friend, took the creative lead and volunteered to act last minute because no one else could. To look the part he picked up that army jacket from a pile of dirty clothes at the location and covered himself from head to toe in dirt. Being there we realized that while these people were straying they were not lost. They were kind and there was a strength about them. There was pride in their defiance and it was more relevant than their sadness.
